Almost 30,000 cigarettes have been seized in a house in Dublin city.

As part of an operation targeting illegal tobacco trade in Moore Street - Revenue officers carried out a search in the Dublin 7 area today.

They found 27,600 cigarettes and 3.8 kilos of tobacco.

The find is believed to represent a potential loss of €13,000 euro to the exchequer.

An Irish woman in her 40's was questioned and investigations are ongoing.
