The Garda Commissioner has again insisted that no member of the Gardaí was involved in surveillance of the Garda Ombudsman Commission.
He says there are strict legal controls over the circumstances in which Gardaí can mount surveillance, which are subject to oversight by a High Court judge.
His comments follow a Sunday Times report that GSOC instigated a security sweep after a senior garda appeared to have sensitive information about an internal GSOC matter.
