The Garda Commissioner's been highlighting the achievements of the force, at the first public hearing of the new Policiing Authority.
Community policing, visibility, and diversity in An Garda Siochána, are among the topics of discussion this afternoon.
The Commissioner says the force has taken €36 million worth of drugs, and 36 firearms off the streets since March of last year.
These seizures led to the arrests of 200 people by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
