Denis O'Brien's Communicorp Group is set to buy eight regional radio stations in the UK.
The stations, which are part of the Global radio group, have nearly three million listeners.
The radio group says it plans to re-brand some of the stations.
Communicorp, which owns Today FM, says the deal will bring the total number of stations in its group to 27.
