The captain of the shipwrecked Costa Concordia has been convicted of multiple charges of manslaughter - but is not behind bars this morning.
Francesco Schettino was yesterday sentenced to 16 years in jail.
He had claimed he fell into a lifeboat after accidentally running the ship into a reef in January 2012.
