A paediatrician has been found guilty of poor professional performance over his treatment of a baby boy at South Tipperary General Hospital in 2012.

The child, who was not sent for head cooling treatment after his birth, suffers from cerebral palsy.

The Medical Council's Fitness to Practice committee is due to rule on a suitable penalty in due course.
