The justice minister says Gardaí will investigate claims that the Continuity IRA was responsible for last Friday's fatal shooting in the Regency Hotel.
But Frances Fitzgerald says it's only one line of inquiry into last week's shooting, in which 34-year-old David Byrne was killed and two others wounded.
The BBC said it had been contacted by the Continuity IRA, which says the murder was a revenge attack for the death of Real IRA figure Alan Ryan.
