We're coming to the Rebel County!

Today FM and Newstalk have announced the launch of a new state-of-the-art studio at Republic of Work, Cork City’s leading business innovation campus.

The three-year partnership will see both national stations broadcast regularly from the purpose-built facility at 12 South Mall in the heart of the city.

The new studio will also allow podcast recording and production and allow local guest contributors to join radio panels and interviews from the Cork studio.

Presenters including Ian Dempsey and Dermot and Dave will broadcast their shows from Leeside.

We're looking forward to meeting some of the locals

Matt Cooper will present ‘The Last Word’ live from the new Cork studio before attending the launch of the new facility to the local business community, while Newstalk's Ciara Kelly will also present a lunchtime show from the studio today.

Next week will see the launch of a three-month outdoor advertising campaign for Today FM in Cork city including a large scale city bus wrap, a commuter campaign in Kent Station and a branded presence on Patrick Street.

To mark the announcement of the Cork studio, Today FM also launched a local business promotion with a €20,000 radio and digital advertising campaign to be won.

DC Cahalane from Republic of Work said: "We are delighted to partner with Today FM and Newstalk on this unique project, which will further add to the diversity of businesses operating in Republic of Work. Equally, it’s an opportunity to further showcase Cork to a national audience."

Today FM CEO Keith McCormack commented: “Today FM has always enjoyed a great relationship with our Cork audience and this new partnership with Republic of Work will allow us to super serve our listeners in Cork and the greater Munster region.

"It also gives us the opportunity to take our presenters and shows out of the studio and engage with our audience in a live setting. We’re looking forward to making Cork a home from home for Today FM."

Newstalk’s Managing Editor Patricia Monahan added: “Newstalk is delighted to have a base in Cork again, we look forward to hosting great Newstalk programmes from here and welcoming guests from the wider Cork community to our new quality studio at Republic of Work."
