There have been 306 new cases of coronavirus in Ireland.

One further death has also been reported.

Of today's new cases, 108 were in Dublin, 30 in Limerick, 22 in Galway, 17 in Dongeal, 15 in Wicklow, 14 in Cork and the remaining 100 spread across 18 other counties.

There have now been a total of 72,544 cases of the virus in the Republic, with 2,053 COVID-19 related deaths since the pandemic began.

As of 2pm this afternoon, there were 244 COVID-19 patients in Irish hospitals - including 31 in intensive care.

The latest figures also show the current 14-day incidence rate of the virus at 89 per 100,000 nationally.

It comes as the country prepares to start reopening, with non-essential retail, gyms, hairdressers, museums and cinemas allowed open again from tomorrow.
