Coronation Street star Chris Fountain has been axed from the show following an online video in which he delivered a foul-mouthed rap which included lyrics about rape.
The 25-year-old actor had already been suspended from his role as mechanic Tommy Duckworth after the video came to light.
ITV say his contract has now been terminated due to his "unacceptable comments".
The clips have been removed from YouTube.
Mr Fountain had issued a statement saying he was deeply ashamed of the lyrics, and was said to have apologised privately to ITV executives.
However it wasn't enough for him to keep his job in the soap.
ITV executives decided not to edit Chris out of scenes he has already filmed and he is still set to appear on TV screen this week.
