Who'd have thought it but playing Tetris could help prevent post traumatic stress disorder. 

The 1980s video game involved fitting brightly coloured blocks together.

It's one of the most popular video games ever invented and is still played by millions of people around the world.

Scientists at Oxford University have found that playing the game can prevent unpleasant flashbacks after a traumatic event. 

They tested it on a number of car crash victims who showed fewer signs of PTSD when they played the game for 20 minutes within 6 hours of being admitted to A and E. 

Researchers say more data is needed in the field but it has potential to help those who have suffered a traumatic event.
