Gardai are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Laragh, County Wicklow last night.

A couple returned home at about five to midnight and were confronted by a group of armed masked men, one of whom is thought to have had a shotgun.

The group had arrived at the house earlier and tied up a male employee before awaiting the return of the couple.

The woman contacted Gardai while the man was confronted by the raiders, who escaped with a small amount of cash and a mobile phone.

No-one was injured.
