The Minister for Foreign Affairs has rubbished British media reports that the Irish Government is only now starting to fight against a hard border in Ireland.
Simon Coveney has taken to Twitter saying the report in The Sun is "nonsense".
The article claims the Government's stance has hardened because of pressure from Gerry Adams.
But Minister Coveney says Ireland has been 'consistent and firm' on preventing hard border.
This article is nonsense. Irish Govt is consistent and firm on preventing Hard Border. Too important an issue to be spinning inaccuracies!

He has also been speaking at the Fine Gael National Conference in Cavan, saying there is a responsibility to come up with "unique and flexible solutions" to border issues.
