The HSE has said a facility providing services to people with intellectual disabilities has to make cuts under the Haddington Road pay deal.

St Michael's House, which offers services to over 1,500 adults and children with intellectual disabilities across Dublin, says its funding had already been cut by one million euro this year under Haddington Road.

It now says it's been informed that it will have a further cut of similar magnitude in its funding for the rest of the year - meaning a total loss of over €12 million in fnding over the last five years.

As a result it's had to close residential services on certain days, and can no longer offer transport, residential or respite services.

Local TD Finian McGrath says people with disabilities are being made to pay for the failures of government.

In a statement the HSE said all agencies were asked to submit plans outlining how they could meet their cost-cutting targets.

It said those that didn't have now been informed of cuts ot the funding, which they are expect to honour.
