A steel cross, which was cut down last week on the summit of Carrauntoohil, has been re-erected.
30 people - including mountaineers and landowners - made their way before dawn to the summit, to put the 3 metre-high cross back up.
The Macgillycuddy Reeks forum had decided to reinstate the cross before Christmas.
A Garda investigation is underway into the cutting down of the cross.
Over 1,000 people climb the Reeks weekly.
