It'’s the first of September and there'’s a distinct chill in the air – which means it’s officially back to school day.
More than half a million primary school children are now back in their classrooms, being taught by around 32 thousand teachers across the country.

Helen Vaughan went along with some Junior Infants starting school for the first time at St Gabriel’s National School in Stoneybatter in Dublin 7.
