The Dáil's been assured that new allegations from Pearse Doherty about Denis O'Brien's relationships with IBRC will be covered by a Commission of Investigation.

But opposition parties want the terms of reference to be changed for a guarantee that the matters can be investigated by the judge running the inquiry.

IBRC's liquidators say the claims made by Deputy Doherty on the Dáil record last night are "inaccurate and misleading".

He presented new documents received under Freedom of Information which show both Minister Bruton's Department and the Competition Authority were notified about the deal just days after IBRC's board agreed to it.
