A 25-year-old American woman has appeared in court in Co Monaghan charged with dangerous driving relating to a fatal road crash that claimed the life of a 3 year old boy.
A 36 year old woman - who was driving the car the toddler was in - was also seriously injured in the two car collision at Annamarron on the N2 on Monday evening.
Maria Goode of 21 Endicott Avenue, Somerville, Massachusetts appeared before a special sitting of Carrickmacross District Court earlier.
She was remanded on bail subject to a number of conditions - including surrendering her passport and that she signs on at Carrickamcross Garda Station three times a week.
An application for legal aid was granted and the case was deferred for two weeks.
