The first data from last night's Census will start to emerge in the summer, according to the Central Statistics Office.

Last night, around 2 million households took part in a nationwide survey which will help inform public policy into the future - however some still haven't received their form

5,100 enumerators are starting to collect the forms in a process that will take around four weeks.

Head of Census Administration Eileen Murphy outlines when we'll start to see facts and figures from the study:

"We'll have some preliminary results for you before the end of June.

"And then the official results with all the cleaned data will start to come out from next April.

"And all through next year we'll have monthly reports on different themes and different topics going into 2024."

Census 2022 was the first to include a time capsule option for people to fill in with their thoughts on life in 2022.

That will remain sealed and released in 2122.
