The Government has rejected criticism by the British Prime Minister over the failure of many countries to shoulder their share of the burden in fighting Ebola.
David Cameron is calling for European Union leaders to double their contribution to help tackle the deadly disease, which has now claimed over 4,500 lives.
A government spokesman told the Irish Times that Ireland was not among those states "dragging their heels" in relation to the crisis, and is fully engaged with preparing a comprehensive response to Ebola.
