A public consultation process for a controversial flood relief scheme planned in Cork city ends on Friday.

Members of the public have until close of business on Friday afternoon to make their voices heard by emailing the Office of Public Works, at claire.anderson@opw.ie

The campaign group Save Cork City is calling for a full design review of the scheme, which it claims would not prevent flooding and would cause massive damage to business and tourism in the city.

Civil Engineer Fergal O'Mahony said it's clear the OPW has not considered more effective and cost-efficient options:
