The death has been announced of the chairman of Rehab Seán Egan.
In a statement, the charity said Mr Egan had died today following a recent major stroke.
The charity led tributes to him this evening - saying his vast contribution, all in a voluntary capacity, had been essential in leading the organisation through great challenges.
They said Mr Egan, who became Chairman of Rehab in May 2014, had led a significant programme of change and set the organisation on a new course, giving generously of his time, skill, insight and enthusiasm.
Seán is survived by his wife Morag, three daughters, son, grandchildren and extended family.
