Groups working with victims of rape and sexual assault are demanding a different approach in the way gardai investigate such crimes.
It follows yesterday's Garda Inspectorate Report, which criticised the force for allowing gardai - with no training in dealing with victims of sexual abuse - to investigate rape and sex assault cases.
The report notes that in other jurisdictions these crimes are usually investigated by trained or specialist officers.
