The Department of Foreign Affairs says Ibrahim Halawa's welfare while in custody remains a 'primary concern'.

The statement from Charlie Flanagan's office follows claims by the Irish teenager's family that his life is in danger in the Cairo jail where he's been held for almost two years.

19 year old Dubliner Ibrahim was arrested during anti-Morsi protests at a mosque in August 2013.

He was due to be sentenced at a mass trial in Egypt earlier today, but his hearing was postponed for a fifth time.

Minister Flanagan says he wants 'to see Ibrahim back in Ireland with his family' - however Ibrahim's sister Somaia, says not enough is being done
