A Garda who was killed in the line of duty will be posthumously awarded for his bravery today.
Detective Adrian Donohoe was shot dead while responding to a robbery at Lordship Credit Union in county Louth in January 2013.
Today, he'll be awarded the gold Scott Medal - the forces's highest honour - for the exceptional courage and bravery he showed in protecting others.
A number of officers will receive silver and bronze Scott Medals and Commissioner's Commendations for bravery in the line of duty.
