It's emerged that Ireland is considering making another direct appeal to the President of Egypt to release Ibrahim Halawa.
Foreign affairs minister Charlie Flanagan says a direct appeal under what's known as 'Rule 140' is being considered.

Egyptian law allows a Presidential decree so that the 20-year-old Dubliner could return to Ireland while he awaits his trial.
Minister Flanagan has told the Dáil the issue was discussed with Halawa's family last week:
