The media will be able to report on the evidence of Ms D at the disclosures tribunal

Mr Justice Peter Charleton ruled this afternoon the media can report on the evidence of ‘Ms D’who is due to appear before the Tribunal next week

But he said her identity and that of her family must remain anonymous and he excluded the public from attending her evidence.

Meanwhile A Garda told the Tribunal he wasn’t aware of any malice towards Sgt Maurice McCabe at Bailieborough Garda Station in Cavan.

Sergeant Tony Byrne told the Tribunal he was transferred to Bailieborough Garda Station in Cavan in 2010.

Sgt Maurice McCabe had been transferred elsewhere and he said the first time he met him was at the Tribunal.

Sgt Byrne said he didn’t know of any malice towards the garda whistle blower at Bailieborough and he only learnt about a false allegation of digital abuse against Sgt McCabe through the Prime Time programme.

Sgt Byrne said it was a horrific allegation to make against anyone and he never heard the false allegation discussed at the Station.

The Tribunal’s already heard the allegation was completely false and had been made because of a copy and paste mistake by a counsellor.
