With today expected to be the hottest day of the year - pet owners are being reminded to keep their animals cool.
Dogs Trust Ireland says long walks and long journeys should be avoided and pets should never ever be left in a car even with the window open.
Dog owners are also being reminded to apply suncream to your dog - not the human kind - and to make sure your dog is well hydrated.
And a batch of special doggy ice cream also goes a long way in keeping your canine friend cool.
