Dolphin Found Swimming In Dublin's River Liffey

A dolphin has been spotted swimming in the River Liffey in Dublin.

It was spotted by an eagle eyed passer by this morning close to the Mansion House.

The DSPCA says many people have been in contact with them since about the sighting.

Experts say it's not uncommon for a dolphin to swim into rivers during the current weather we're experiencing.

The stormy weather may have stirred up metal and other particles sitting on the river bed.

Gillian Bird from the DSPCA says "his sonar is acting up a bit because of all the silt that's coming up from the bottom of the Liffey."

"He is swimming in circles, but he's actually ok and will go back out to sea, so please don't interfere with him."
