Two thirds of drug users who are intimidated or attacked by criminal gangs involved in the drugs trade do not report the incidents to Gardai for fear of reprisal.

New research from CityWide anti drugs campaign and the Health Research Board also shows most attacks involve physical violence and damage to homes and property.

While in one third of cases the mothers of drug users were targeted.
