Dublin Commuters Spend More Time Getting To Work Than Anywhere Else In The World

Dublin traffic is the second slowest in the world, with journey times only getting longer.

The capital was ranked as the second slowest according to new data from GPS company Tom Tom.

The “best time to avoid” is Wednesday morning between 8 and 9am - while the average speed in rush hour is 16 kilometres an hour - slower than a bike.

Belfast ranked as 162nd in the world in the research.

Limerick and Cork also featured in the list - but they were outside the top 200.

Meanwhile, the figures also showed that Dublin has the worst level of congestion in the world.

It also shows that you lose 158 hours a year to commuting in Dublin - more than anywhere else in the world.

Drivers in Dublin spent €202 euro worth of fuel on average in 2023 just in congestion.
