Anthony Betty Tunstead were in their room when they heard the gunfire on the beach.
They had been holidaying with Betty's sister and her husband Denis. The foursome had made friends with Larry and Martina Hayes from Athlone who were staying in the some hotel.
They told Anton Savage they knew at an early stage it was bad news ..
Meanwhile, the community in Athlone has rallied around the Hayes family after the death of Larry and Martina.

Tributes are being paid to Martina and Larry Hayes from Athlone - and Meath woman Lorna Carty who were among the 38 people killed in the attack.
