Dublin house prices rose by almost 18 percent in the year to the end of April.
That's according to the latest property price index from the Central Statistics Office.
The CSO says house prices in the capital jumped by 3 percent between March and the end of April.
There were also significant rises on a national level - with prices up by 8.5 per cent over the past year - and 1-point-4 per cent on March.
However, the CSO points out that the average house still costs little over half what it did at the peak of the property boom in 2007.
