6 Traveller families who are living on an illegal halting site in Dundalk, say they will be left homeless if they are forced to move.

12 families were removed by the council from Woodlands Park - a former official halting site - last Friday.

The majority of them are now living in caravans on the roadside, while a number of others have been provided with B&B accommodation.

The Council has committed to securing long-term Traveller specific accommodation for the families.

Spokesperson for the travellers Rebecca Quinn says the 6 families who are still in Woodlands Park need to be provided with emergency accommodation by the council or face homelessness.
