Plain packaging for tobacco is one step closer after an opinion was delivered by the European Court of Justice on its legality.
The Children's Minister says big tobacco has failed to derail Irish plans to introduce plain packaging next May.
The ECJ says last year's EU Directive on plain packs was lawfully adopted, and does not infringe competition and free market rules.
