The Taoiseach has been briefed on recovery efforts after last week's fatal coastguard helicopter crash.

Enda Kenny was taken out to the Navy ship the L.E. Eithne off the coast of Mayo earlier.

The team hunting for the Coast Guard helicopter missing since Tuesday, have mapped out where they believe the black box lies.

However the search is being hampered by high winds and waves.

Three of the four crew members are still missing after the aircraft came down off the coast of County Mayo.

At the weekend, rescue workers provided a guard of honour at the funeral of the helicopter's pilot Dara Fitzpatrick.

The Coast Guard's Declan Geoghegan says significant progress was made in yesterday's search operation off Blacksod Bay.
