Egypt has carried out airstrikes on Islamic State targets in Libya this morning.

Their President had pledged to respond to the killing of 21 Egyptian Christians by militants linked to the organisation.

Footage emerged last night showing the men, who'd been held hostage for weeks, being beheaded on a beach.

The makers of the video identify themselves as the Tripoli Province of I.S. - the group which already controls large parts of Iraq and Syria.
