The gunman who killed eight people in a restaurant in the Czech Republic acted alone.

That's according to the mayor of Uhersky Brod in the east of the country, who insists it was an isolated act.

Police say the attacker - a 60 year-old local man - turned the gun on himself.

Several others have been injured, including a waitress.
