An elderly man has died following a house fire in South Dublin.
He was found at a house on Merrion Road just after at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
Gardai say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dublin Fire Brigade says three crews fought the fire, which Gardai say is not believed to be suspicious.
A dog also died in the blaze.
Unfortunately, following the earlier domestic fire on Merrion Road and search of the building, the remains of a male has been found, along with a dog. 3 crews from Donnybrook and HQ fought the fire. The first call was at approximately 3.10pm. pic.twitter.com/BNiXZTy3W6
