Around 20 people, including a number of children have been safely removed from the Big Wheel at Galway's Christmas Market after it stopped moving earlier this evening.
Gardai in Galway confirmed apart from passengers feeling cold after the ordeal there were no injuries.

A number of people are trapped on the Big Wheel at Galway's Christmas Market just after it was officially opened.
Emergency services are at the scene trying to free passengers from the cabins.
The fire service is using a cherry picker to reach people and remove them safely in Eyre Square.
A large crowd of spectators has gathered and traffic in the area is being diverted.
