The Irish Medical Organisation says the Government doesn't understand the real cause of overcrowding in hospital emergency departments.
Yesterday, it emerged that a 91 year old patient was left waiting on a trolley in Tallaght Hospital for 29 hours earlier this week.
The hospital has since apologised but the Taoiseach is demanding to know who was responsible.
