Householders can expect to pay an extra 20 euro on their electricity bills from October.
The Commission for Energy Regulation has announced the PSO levy is going up by just over 30 percent.
This means the new total levy will be just over 92 euro for the year ahead.
The CER has confirmed the PSO Levy is to increase by almost €25 per year for domestic customers https://t.co/gOKnijNay2

Eoin Clarke, Managing Director of Switcher.ie, said: "The PSO levy is a standard component of all electricity bills, and is a charge all of us have to pay, regardless of our electricity usage.
Already, the average electricity bill in Ireland stands at €947 per year, so the fact that this PSO Levy change will push this up by another €25 will come as unwelcome news for anyone who is already struggling to pay their energy bills.
