New questions have been raised about the government’s funding for Irish Water.
It’s been claimed that the grant being given to every home may cost €35 million MORE than first claimed.
There were also angry exchanges in the Dail last night - with one TD claiming a minister told him to ‘F off’.
As the Dáil continued its debates on Irish Water, new questions emerged about how much the state is spending on the €100 grant being given to every home.
The government says the grant will go to 1.3 million households - but the CSO says there are 1.65 million households in Ireland.
Alan Kelly said the scheme would be ‘demand led’ - but many TDs, including Roisin Shortall, weren’t happy:
TDs will be expecting answers this morning.
Meanwhile there were claims that Minister Kelly swore at another TD.
Mattie McGrath alleged a “nasty expletive” - the minister said he didn’t recall the comment, but apologised if he made it.
