Talks between ESB management and unions have concluded for the day without reaching a deal to avert planned strike action.
The ESB Group of Unions will formally serve strike notice on the company tomorrow, which could result in power outages in the run up to Christmas.
The row centres on a €1.6 billion hole in the company's pension scheme, which the ESB Group of Unions want addressed.
