The Tanaiste says nothing gives her greater pleasure than seeing apprenticeships coming back into favour.
Joan Burton was speaking after the announcement in Portlaoise this morning that the ESB is to train 300 apprentices over the next five years.
ItÂ’s part of a 40 million euro investment in training and development at the ESB.
Minister Burton says sheÂ’s thrilled that thereÂ’s a renewed focus on trades and apprenticeships;
Network Technician apprentices will get 23 weeks of training at the ESB training centre in Portlaoise as part of their four year electrical apprenticeship.
The deadline for application is March 13th.
