ESB working to restore power

The ESB is warning that it could take a number of days to repair the damage caused by yesterday's storm.

115,000 customers are still without power and the company says up to 80,000 of those will remain without supply for at least another night.

Cork, Kerry and Wexford are the worst affected areas.

Gardai, the Road Safety Authority and AA Roadwatch are warning road users to expect hazardous conditions in parts.

Met Eireann says yesterday's storm ranks among the top five worst to hit Ireland since weather records began.
