The first ever Europe-wide crackdown on speeding is taking place from this morning.
The 24 hour marathon effort will involve speed checkpoints across 22 countries until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning.
It's being co-ordinated by the European Traffic Police Network, or TISPOL.
47 people have died in Irish roads so far this year.
