Small things such as losing keys, missing a bus and running out of phone battery are causing people large amounts of stress.

Research by psychologists at Goldsmiths University in the UK found many people are letting an everyday situation build up into a major drama.

They're blaming it on "fearcasting" - where the brain thinks ahead to the worst possible outcomes.
