Exit package not agreed for former IFA boss

The Acting President of the Irish Farmer's Association says the pension package for Pat Smith has not yet been agreed.

The Irish Independent reports that the former General Secretary could walk away with a 2 million euro pension - after he resigned amid controversy over his pay.

The Association will hold another emergency meeting of its executive in Dublin today to discuss the ongoing issue.

IFA President Eddie Downey has stepped back from the role while a review is carried out - Acting President Tim O'Leary says negotiations on a final package for Pat Smith are ongoing:
