Emergency services were called to the scene at Parsons Green Station in West London at around 8.20 this morning.
Passengers on the District Line train reported seeing a flash and a white bucket in a shopping bag exploding into flames
Witnesses describe an acrid smell and wires hanging from the bucket, leading some to suggest that the device only partially detonated.
Britian's NHS says 22 people are now being treated at four hospitals - mostly for flash burns - some others were injured in the stampede to get out of the station.
The District Line remains partly suspended and a wide Cordon is in place around the station, with people ordered to leave their homes.
Police say they're treating it as a terrorist incident and are appealing for anyone who has footage to forward it to them
